The mission of Binghamton University’s Master of Public Health (MPH) program is to prepare a diverse public health workforce that leads to advances in health equity for rural and vulnerable populations. The program is committed to academic and scholarly excellence, advancing a diverse and inclusive culture, and engaging with the broader community. It provides a personal connection between faculty and students, an environment that fosters professional development, and a broad didactic education for developing evidence-based solutions to real-world public health challenges. Emphasis is placed on social justice, community service, and advocacy. Students can complete an elective sequence of courses in population health, global health, disaster preparedness, or forensic health. An essential part of the program is the immersion of students in fieldwork experiences and interprofessional education that helps them acquire public health competencies and be workforce-ready.
